Signifiant changes have been engineered into the fifth and the sixth strings of the phosphor bronze and bronze sets. The fifth and the sixth strings utilize core and wrap wire of identical size so that neither part of the string dominates the various modes of string vibration. Thus, these strings vibrate with greater amplitude, more consistency and produce a sharper, more precise tone.
