The trebles of Aquila Sugar strings are made from bio-plastic derived from sugar cane. These strings are characterised by a clear sound, a lively response and a certain amount of power. Unlike Fluorocarbon strings, Sugar strings provide excellent vibrato and allow for beautiful variations in tone depending on the position of your right hand.
Laboratory tests have measured a difference in power and sustain of 18% and 24% respectively compared with Fluorocarbon strings. A new treatment applied to these strings eliminates 90% of string friction.
