Phosphor bronze was introduced into string making by D'Addario in 1974, and has since become synonymous with warmth, brightness and tonal balance. D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings are wound with corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze on a carefully machined, hex-shaped, high-carbon steel core in a high-precision process. The result: bright, long-lasting tone with excellent intonation.
