This is the string set that, when it came out in 1966, changed the role of the bass player by finally letting them step to the front of the stage.
Developed in collaboration with John Entwistle (bass player of The Who), these strings were the first to generate the power and tonal richness essential to Rock'n'Roll.
Continuously improved for nearly 50 years, Swing Bass strings remain to this day the world standard for bass strings. Swing Bass strings have a characteristic red silk at the tuning-machine end of the strings. This silk makes it easier to fit the strings and improves grip on the tuning machine for better tuning stability.
They are available in stainless steel (bright sound) and in nickel-plated steel (soft sound).
To keep the strings fresh, Rotos are packed in a protective atmosphere. With no individual paper sleeve (paper does contain moisture), the strings have a color code on the ball ends so they can be easily identified.
Made since 1958 in Kent, England, RotoSound strings are shipped directly from the factory to your store. This distribution system keeps the carbon emissions generated during transport to a minimum.
