Patented in 1977 by James How, these stainless steel bass strings are pressed between two rollers, which flattens the winding without removing material. This reduces finger friction noise and makes it easier to move along the neck.

In terms of sound, the mids are more present. These strings are particularly recommended for recording and for calmer, more melodic musical styles. They are available in two gauges for 4-string bass and one gauge for 5-string.
